From comments I've heard from many Phi Sig alumni from Univ. of Maryland, there was no love lost between them and the ZBT chapter on campus. In fact, that was primarily why the Phi Sig chapter kept its name for 21 years after the merger of the two fraternities at the national level in 1969.

I would like to share with you my experiences with the ZBT national office in Indianapolis, IN. In late 2007, I contacted them and asked if they had any data on the Phi Sigma Delta grads from Univ. of Maryland in the 1960s. I figured they probably didn't have any info since most old data gets lost especially during a merger. To my surprise, not only did they have a database of all of the grads from that period, but they created a special report for me of over 200 names and the data they had on them and mailed it to me within a week. I was very, very pleasantly surprised at their willingness to help (after all, they didn't know me from Adam).

Over a year later I asked them if they could send the info they had on all Phi Sigma Delta grads from Univ. of Maryland from 1970-1990. Again they immediately sent me a long list. They also sent me info on Phi Alpha grads from 1950-1960.

I wanted to share this with everyone to let you know that although we may not all think of ourselves as ZBT alumni, the national office is very willing to help however they can. As another example, ZBT has a group on the business networking site LinkedIn. I asked them if they could create a Phi Sigma Delta group making it easier for Phi Sig alum to stay connected, and they immediately did.

They recently created another website to facilitate alumni contacting each other called the ZBT Network. Again, they included a group for Phi Sigma Delta alumni and another for Phi Alpha alumni.
